Bat Wave Analyzer
This program was created in 2003 and has not been updated since. It has not been available for use since 2010 but due to the many requests received, I have now found the original data and made it available for FREE once more. However, it is old, dated, it can not compare with other bat software and may even not run on your system! So, use at your own risk and please.. no requests for help with it, as I have no access to its code nor am I familiar with its workings!
The following text, images and indeed the program itself have been salvaged from my old AIE website.

The Bat Wave Analyzer Project is a software program which allows you to look at sound waves in various ways. The most useful way is as a spectrogram which plots a sound wave's frequency against time. The resulting display pattern can enable, in many cases, the species of bat to be identified.
The program was written by myself (Chris Skellern) during the latter part of 2003. It is a fully working version and free to download. It should run on PC's using Microsoft Windows 95 (or higher). This version of the program is a first draft and so doesn't have many options which I originally intended to include. It will also probably prove to have many bugs.
The software is intended for use by those that carry out Bat Surveys and take recordings.

Demo Bat Call Sound Files for use in the program. (supplied within a zip file. Simply unzip and place on your desktop).
These are in PCM format, sampled at 22050, 16 bit, mono and are compatible with current versions of the Analyzer program. They were both found on a web site ( www.batcalls.org ) which is dedicated to the free distribution of bat call sounds providing an acknowledgement is provided. These two examples were mage by Raimund Specht of Avisoft (a company that produces professional bat software). The quality is excellent.
