ArborCAD - System Requirements

ArborCAD needs a Windows environment so will not work on Mac's. It should be compatible with all post Windows 95 platforms including W7 and W8 (see notes regarding Vista). However, as I have been unable to test it on all Windows versions I can not  guarantee its compatibility. So, its a case of downloading and installing the demo version to see if it works! You do need to use a screen resolution of at least 800x600.

Although you can install and run the program without using it for CAD work, you do ultimately, need an AutoCAD program if you wish to modify a drawing. I can not guarantee its compatibility with any version prior to R14 but it has been tested on the following AutoCAD versions (don't worry, I'm not a millionaire, I don't own all the following programs, much of the testing has been carried out by friends or by using trial versions).

If your AutoCAD version is not on this list I can NOT guarantee that it will work correctly.

AutoCAD R14
AutoCAD 2000i and LT
AutoCAD 2002
AutoCAD 2004 and LT
AutoCAD 2005 LT
AutoCAD 2006 LT
AutoCAD 2006 (issues exist with vista)
AutoCAD 2007  (issues exist with vista)
AutoCAD 2007 LT
AutoCAD 2008 LT
AutoCAD 2009 LT
AutoCAD 2010 and LT
AutoCAD 2011 and LT
AutoCAD 2012 and LT
AutoCAD 2013 and LT

I have also tried it on the first LT version but found it to be incompatible due to lack of critical drawing functions and the lack of a 'support' folder. However, if you own this version and have upgraded then there may be no  problem.

AutoCAD 2006 onwards has a number of differences to 2005 and earlier versions, with the custom menu installation being the change which affects ArborCAD. Therefore, users of 2006 programs need to follow a slightly different menu installation procedure which is explained in the manual pages. AutoCAD 2006+ will not operate under the Windows 98 environment.

ArborCAD will not work with any other CAD package such as TurboCAD,  IntelliCAD etc.
